We now have a calendar!

The School for Nonviolence is pleased to announce the addition of a calendar gadget to its blog. The calendar is located at the bottom of the main blog page. This location allows for a more robust calendar experience (that is, it's wide enough to show long event titles).

If you know of any nonviolence- and/or peace-related events happening in the Borderland region (e.g., Cd. Juarez, Las Cruces, El Paso), we would love to post them on our calendar. Please use the comments function below to give us the details.

Thank you!

  1. From Joe Heyman:
A free, open to the public conference will be held Sept. 21 (at UTEP, El Paso Natural Gas Conference Center) and Sept. 22 (at the Plaza Theater, downtown). The details can be found on this website:
    http://warondrugsconference.utep.edu

The topic is drug policy, including alternatives to the status quo, always keeping mind the de facto war in Juarez and some other parts of Mexico. The presenters will be key experts on all sides from the whole North American continent. There will also be a parallel event (takes pre-registration) in Juarez, with the mayor of
Medellin, Colombia, where they have significantly reduced drug violence.

This conference is aimed at you, the public, and is meant to start the continent-wide conversation on drug policy. Please consider attending.
